Former 'American Idol' Contestant's Shocking Conviction in Wife's Murder New

Former 'American Idol' Contestant's Shocking Conviction in Wife's Murder

Caleb Flynn’s murder trial ended with jurors finding the former “American Idol” contestant and pastor guilty on all nine charges in connection with the killing of his wife, Ashley Flynn. The jury returned the verdict on Tuesday, September 29, according to courtroom footage livestreamed by CourtTV. Caleb, 40, was convicted of charges including aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. He became tearful and started to cry as the verdict was read, courtroom footage shows, before he was led out of court. Caleb pleaded not guilty in the case, according to CNN. He’s facing life in prison without the possibility of parole. Caleb’s defense attorney, L. Patrick Mulligan, didn’t immediately return Us’ request for comment. The former reality TV contestant and pastor’s conviction comes more than seven months after he was accused of staging the scene of Ashley’s murder at their Tipp City, Ohio, home in February. Ashley was 37 when she was shot dead in her sleep. Police bodycam footage captured Caleb sobbing at the home after he called 911 on February 16. He claimed Ashley was killed by a burglar during a break-in. During his trial, prosecutors detailed how Caleb expressed wanting to kill his wife in text messages sent to his mistress, Alleigha Botner, including messages indicating he wanted Ashley to die, NBC News reported. Botner, who’s now 24, testified against her former boyfriend and read several of their over 100,000 text messages out loud. According to her testimony, the pair both sent text messages saying they wanted to kill Ashley. Messages also indicated that Caleb hated Ashley and her family. Botner said she didn’t “mean it” when reading one of the texts during her chilling testimony, in which she wrote, “I want to kill her,” referring to Ashley, according to CNN. Caleb and Ashley had been married for 15 years and had two daughters, per the Dayton Daily News. The girls were reportedly asleep in the next room at the time their mother was killed. Ashley was a Tipp City teacher and volleyball coach at Tippecanoe Middle School, according to Tipp City Schools. During closing arguments, Mulligan said in Caleb’s defense that the prosecution didn’t present evidence proving that he murdered Ashley, CNN reported, only that they proved Caleb was having an affair. He referenced how the gun linked to her death was missing. “This simply is proven versus not proven, and respectfully I would suggest this is a matter of not proven, and therefore worthy of a verdict of not guilty,” Mulligan said. Miami County Prosecuting Attorney Paul Watkins, however, said all evidence “pointed to the defendant.” Caleb is expected to be sentenced on Monday, October 5.

Dennis Haskins' Secret Battle with Parkinson's Before His Tragic Passing New

Dennis Haskins' Secret Battle with Parkinson's Before His Tragic Passing

New details surrounding Dennis Haskins’ health have been revealed after his death at the age of 75. Haskins’ friend and caretaker Kimberly Snow confirmed to The New York Times that the Saved By the Bell actor had been in an assisted living facility since he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease eight years ago. According to the Mayo Clinic, Parkinson’s is a movement disorder of the nervous system that worsens over time. Symptoms, such as slurred speech, get worse over time. Snow also confirmed that Haskins died on Sunday, September 27, in Burbank, California. His official cause of death has yet to be revealed. “It’s a tragic loss,” his spokesperson confirmed to Us on Monday, September 28. “Everyone loved Mr. Belding and those of us who got to know Dennis, loved him even more.” Haskins originated the role of Bayside High School’s Principal Richard Belding on the short-lived teen comedy Good Morning, Miss Bliss in 1988. The sitcom was revamped as Saved by the Bell the following year and aired from 1989 to 1993 on NBC. He was featured in all 86 episodes of the show. In his later years, Haskins was a regular at a local bar called Dimples Karaoke. His caretaker was a bartender at the establishment until it closed in 2014. “About eight years ago, he became ill. He had been silent about his fight with Parkinson’s, among other health concerns, because he did not want the attention,” Dimples Karaoke wrote via Instagram on Monday. “He did not want to have to tell people. He would say, ‘What do I even say?’ So I respected his wishes and stayed quiet, and I helped him through his journey into the next chapter of his life.” The statement continued, “Late last night, that journey ended for him. He is now at peace and is probably entertaining the people in the sky. Just know that if you tried to reach out to him in the last few years, I did read your messages to him, and you were heard. After I said my final goodbyes to him last night, I was across the hall signing some paperwork. I looked up and saw that the room he had been in was a gift from the Mario Lopez Golf Classic, and somehow, that made me feel a little better. What a cool and amazing life he had. Rest in peace, Dennis. You were very much loved and will never be forgotten.” Since his death was confirmed, many costars have shared their fond memories working with Haskins. “Knowing Dennis Haskins for almost 40 years has been one of the truest blessings of my life, which makes losing him hurt so deeply,” Lark Voorhies wrote via Instagram on Monday. “We shared so much history together from our earliest days, and through it all, he remained a fabulous person, a loyal friend, and someone with such a kind, gentle heart.”

Maria Shriver's Emotional Birthday Tribute to Son Christopher Sparks Buzz New

Maria Shriver's Emotional Birthday Tribute to Son Christopher Sparks Buzz

Maria Shriver gushed about son Christopher and shared rare photos in a sweet 29th birthday tribute. “Today is @c1lotsoffun‘s birthday,” Shriver, 70, wrote via Instagram on Monday, September 28, alongside a carousel of snaps with her youngest child. “Happy birthday to this wonderful, kind, loving, caring, fun, funny, wise young man!” The former first lady of California continued, “You may be my baby, but I will always look up to you. I admire the way you walk in the world. I admire the way you make people feel. I admire the way you look for the good in everyone. God blessed me when he made me your mother, and you bless everybody’s life that you walk into. Have a wonderful day on your birthday! Know you are loved, and I love you! Love, mommy. ♥️.” In her post, Shriver included a black-and-white throwback photo of herself snuggling up to Christopher when he was a child. The I Am Maria author also shared more recent pics, including snaps at a University of Michigan football game, on a boat and in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Shriver shares Christopher, as well as daughters Katherine, 36, and Christina, 35, and son Patrick, 33, with ex-husband Arnold Schwarzenegger. (The Terminator star, 79, is also a dad to son Joseph, 28, with Mildred Patricia Baena.) Katherine also shared a tribute to her brother, featuring several throwback snaps. “Happy birthday to the greatest of all baby brother Christopher!” she wrote. “You’re the best. I love you tons.” Unlike his parents and siblings Katherine and Patrick, Christopher has chosen to live his life mostly out of the spotlight. However, last year, he publicly opened up about his 30-pound weight loss journey. “It was a big process,” he shared while speaking on a panel at the inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in Los Angeles in May 2025. “I started in 2019 when I was living in Australia. I was on this big trip. I made it a big [deal] like, ‘Oh, I’m going to go out and do all this stuff, be in Australia,’ and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities.” Christopher noted that he “tried everything” to lose weight over the years, but nothing worked for him long-term. “I was doing meal delivery things in high school, and I remember feeling like a weirdo when I was bringing weird lunches to school,” he admitted. “It’s not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error. And even still to this day … when you’re saying, ‘Oh, before-and-after photos’ … I don’t feel like I’m an ‘after’ yet. I don’t feel like I’m at the point.” Christopher revealed that giving up bread during the Catholic holiday Lent last year gave him the push he needed. “I was like, ‘Well, if I’m giving up bread, I might as well just take the opportunity,' and I’m a good Catholic boy, so I’m not going to break it,” he explained. “And that was my one rule. I was like, ‘I’m not going to break Lent.’ And so, I lost 30 pounds just through that.”

Jesse Williams' Baby Announcement Video Leaves Fans Talking New

Jesse Williams' Baby Announcement Video Leaves Fans Talking

Jesse Williams and partner Alejandra Onieva have welcomed their first baby together, his third. In a Monday, September 28, Instagram video, Williams, 45, opened the fridge to rummage through baby bottles as Onieva, 34, spoke Spanish with a group in the background. “English, alright, English! I want my son to speak English,” he said to the people behind him. “Bad enough his name is Hector.” The video appears to be a reenactment of 1989’s Do The Right Thing, where Spike Lee’s character says nearly the same words while going through the fridge. Williams shared a clip from the film in his Instagram carousel on Monday. Williams did not share further details about the pair’s child, captioning the upload with a series of emojis, “ ☀️ .” Onieva, for her part, reposted the carousel via her Instagram Story on Monday and also shared a clip of the baby’s feet resting on her stomach. News broke in May that Onieva was expecting the couple’s first child together. Onieva later confirmed her pregnancy while sharing several photos to Instagram featuring her growing baby bump. Williams and Onieva initially crossed paths on the set of Prime Video’s Hotel Costiera in 2024. The pair were later spotted spending time together off screen the following year. The Grey’s Anatomy actor previously welcomed daughter Sadie and son Maceo with ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee. The pair, who wed in 2012, separated five years later. Williams, for his part, has been candid about navigating parenthood through the years. In 2023, Williams shared that his upbringing has "tremendously influenced” how he has strived to raise his children. “You try to make sure to expand on the good and try to reduce things that were scary or negatively influenced you and protect your kids without rendering them unprepared for the realities of their life,” Williams told Parade at the time. “So all of that stuff is informative, and I think all parents can relate to hearing their own parents in their voice as they parent. I definitely find myself surprised at how often I sound like my dad or mom.” The following year, Williams opened up about finding time to be there for his children while filming Hotel Costiera in Italy. “[I was] waking up at 3 a.m. to call the kids because I'm nine hours ahead of them, so sleep was really tough,” he told People in 2025.

Will Reeve Opens Up About Cancer Battle and Triumph

See more of our coverage in your search results. Christopher Reeve’s son Will Reeve revealed his testicular cancer diagnosis on Tuesday. The 34-year-old assured “Good Morning America” viewers “right off the top” that he is “OK” and battled the disease over the summer.“The diagnosis was a shock and the treatments were a slog,” he noted. “Today, though, I am relieved to announce that we arrived at our destination and this cancer is in the rearview mirror. But what a journey.”Will Reeve opened up about his cancer battle on “Good Morning America” Tuesday. Getty Images for Empire State Realty TrustChristopher Reeve’s son (pictured above in May 2004) was diagnosed with testicular cancer after finding a lump in April. FilmMagicWill explained that four months after his January wedding to Amanda Dubin, he found “a hard, tender lump in [his] left testicle.”He went in for an ultrasound “at Amanda’s urging,” and “the images confirmed the unimaginable” — he “had a mass that had to come out.”Will underwent an orchiectomy in May to have the testicle removed, but what he thought was a “momentary frightening detour” escalated when he was diagnosed with embryonal carcinoma, an aggressive form of testicular cancer. The 34-year-old underwent two surgeries. ABCHe also did two rounds of chemotherapy. ABCAs a result, Will underwent another surgery to have dozens of lymph nodes removed from his abdomen to prevent the cancer from spreading. He went under the knife at Memorial Sloan Kettering, the same building where his mom, Dana Reeve, lost her battle to lung cancer in 2006 at 44 years old, two years after her husband’s passing at 52.Will made the “necessary choice” to undergo chemotherapy to slash his chances of a cancer recurrence, with his symptoms including ringing ears, night sweats, blood clots, constant headaches and bone pain.“The diagnosis was a shock and the treatments were a slog,” he told viewers. ABCHowever, Will clarified, “We arrived at our destination and this cancer is in the rearview mirror.” ABCWill did not, however, lose his hair to the treatment thanks to a cold-capping method — and he banked sperm so he and Dubin can start a family one day via in vitro fertilization. Will, who raved about getting “clean scans” on Sept. 8., shared more details in a People interview, saying that while he is “going to be fine,” this was “one heck of a chapter” in his life.“I’m fortunate that I caught this early,” he stressed. “Yes, I had to jump through some flaming hoops to get to the other side, but it could have been much worse had I ignored it or delayed going to the doctor.”He praised his wife for being his “caregiver,” comparing his partner to his mom, who cared for Christopher after the “Superman” star’s horse-riding accident left him paralyzed in 1995.He received “clean scans” on Sept. 8. ABCThe ABC personality noted he has banked sperm so he and wife Amanda Dubin can start a family. ABC“I learn[ed] more about what it was like to be my dad in the final nine years of his life, where he had my mom and our family taking care of him,” Will explained, noting that they taught him how to take adversity and “repurpose it into something hopeful.”Dubin, for her part, called her husband’s cancer battle “early validation” that they can “tackle anything” as a couple. The duo went public with their romance in April 2023 and got engaged in November of the following year, ultimately tying the knot in Miami in January. Lark Voorhies' Heartfelt Tribute to 'Saved by the Bell' Co-Star Dennis Haskins New

Lark Voorhies' Heartfelt Tribute to 'Saved by the Bell' Co-Star Dennis Haskins

Saved by the Bell’s Lark Voorhies is the first cast member to react to the death of late costar Dennis Haskins. “Knowing Dennis Haskins for almost 40 years has been one of the truest blessings of my life, which makes losing him hurt so deeply,” the actress, 52, wrote via Instagram late Monday, September 28. Voorhies continued, “We shared so much history together from our earliest days, and through it all, he remained a fabulous person, a loyal friend, and someone with such a kind, gentle heart. I am truly heartbroken by his passing and will miss his warmth and laughter more than words can say. Rest in peace, Dennis, you will always hold a special place in my heart.” Voorhies played spoiled student Lisa Turtle on the hit NBC sitcom, which aired between 1989 and 1993, and followed a group of students at the fictional Bayside High School. She was among the show’s core teenage cast, starring alongside Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario Lopez, the late Dustin Diamond, Tiffany Thiessen and Elizabeth Berkley. Haskins was best known for playing Principal Richard Belding, a role he originated on the short-lived Disney Channel series Good Morning, Miss Bliss, on the hit show. He reprised the role in Saved by the Bell: The New Class, which aired from 1993 to 2000. Haskins’ representative confirmed the actor’s death at age 75 in a statement to Us on Monday. “It’s a tragic loss,” his spokesperson said. “Everyone loved Mr. Belding and those of us who got to know Dennis loved him even more.” “[Dennis] was a great person, and he loved, I mean absolutely LOVED his fans,” his rep told Us. “He always had time for them, no matter what. He was my client and dear friend for over 20 years, and I will miss him terribly. I’m heartbroken.” “On Good Morning, Miss Bliss, I was just glad to have a job. It was a long seven-audition process,” Haskins told Parade in 2013. “I was in. I was out. And then, finally at the last minute, I got it. We were just happy to be working. We weren’t thinking in terms of how long we were going to go.” “One day [producer] Peter Engel came on the stage and said, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, Disney has chosen not to go on with the project. There’s a slight chance ABC will do something, but I just wanted to thank everybody.’ And then I started hearing things,” he recalled. “The prop guy came up to me and said, ‘Hey, Dennis. They just told us to save the sets.’ I found out that I was going on to Saved by the Bell because NBC had bought the rights to four characters, by the wardrobe guy telling me, ‘They told me to save your suits,’ and giving me a big thumbs up.”

London Entertainment / SplashNews.comFollowing the name change, a source close to Pitt exclusively told Page Six, “This is the latest installment in what complete and total alienation looks like with an extra topping of trying to deflect attention from their ex’s success. Anyone who has actually been a part of this for the last ten years would know that there’s only one side that talks about and has tried to weaponize the kids.”A second source close to the “Maleficent” star exclusively said in response, “Today’s hearing was required by law and scheduled months ago by the L.A. court system. It’s a new low to have his camp to spin a conspiracy theory, disavow responsibility for his conduct, and attack his own child. Keep in mind, his daughter has had the grace not to discuss the details of his behavior in public.”The ruling comes more than two months after Page Six reported that Zahara and her brother Maddox had taken out newspaper advertisements announcing their respective petitions to legally drop “Pitt” from their surnames. Zahara, pictured above in June 2025, previously made headlines in November 2023 when she proudly introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie during her Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority induction ceremony.
