George Santos Urges Voters to Rethink Reality TV Stars in Politics

Former Rep. George Santos is calling on voters to be “more selective” ahead of this year’s contentious midterm elections. “I think that we should be more selective of who we send to office. We are sending a lot of great candidates for reality TV into Washington, and perhaps we should redirect them to TV instead of D.C.,” the politician-turned-reality TV star, 38, exclusively told Us on Friday, October 2. Santos was infamously expelled from Congress on December 1, 2023, after a damning House Ethic Committee Report detailed the former representative’s campaign fund misuse. He was later sentenced to 87 months in prison after he admitting to lying about his background — including where he went to school, his family’s Jewish and Holocaust heritage and where his mother was during the deadly 9/11 terrorist attacks — and committing multiple counts of wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. (President Donald Trump commuted Santos’ sentence in October 2025.) After Santos served roughly three months of his seven-year sentence, he joined season 5 of FOX’s hit reality competition series Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. “I'm not here to judge, because people ask me who I [would] nominate for season 6 for something like this,” Santos continued to Us on Friday and while considering any current or former politicians who would fare better on reality TV. “I can't help but say Marjorie Taylor Greene, because she likes CrossFi [and] I think she'd probably scream at the DS [the Directing Staff]. That would be interesting to watch.” (Green, 52, left office on January 5, 2026, after a very public fallout with President Trump over the botched release of the so-called Epstein files.) Santos continued of reality TV stars running for office, “But I don't want to say no because I'd be a hypocrite. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Look, this is America. We're a great experiment. We're a great melting pot. We have politicians who have become celebrities. We have celebrities who have become politicians. Spanning from Sonny Bono to Ronald Reagan to Arnold Schwarzenegger, Donald Trump and many more. So I think there's an intersectionality. The thing that I always joked about was [that] D.C. is Hollywood for ugly people.” With political life in the rearview, Santos has been taken aback by the positive fan reaction he received during his time on Special Forces. (Spoiler: Santos reached his physical limit on the show and voluntarily withdrew on the Thursday, October 1, episode of the hit series.) “I'm used to a very different reaction, so it’s so humbling that people got to see me and they have this reaction,” Santos told Us. “It’s really humbling. It's healing in a way, because it's all I wanted — was to be seen outside of headlines … and at least people get to see a little bit of who I am in a real organic way, not in a controlled studio where I show up to an interview and people laugh and then walk away.” He continued, “It's like, ‘Yeah, but he's still George Santos.’ No, people got to see me, like, legit snore. So it's emotional for me, because I've had a rough go for the last few years of, you know, [the] consequences of my own actions. To see that I can pass through that and fight through that and keep fighting to at least reclaim some sort of space is very heartwarming for me. I’m forever grateful to the audience and Special Forces and beyond for the love and the support and the memes. Gypsy Rose Blanchard's Emotional Plea: Turning Tragedy into Change

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is vowing to honor her late ex-fiancé, Ken Urker, following his sudden death at 34. “I only have my daughter and my voice ❤️‍��,” Blanchard, 35, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, October 4, referring to 16-month-old Aurora. “In honor of Ken, I am asking for your support for Kenan’s Law. ��.” Blanchard created a petition for “Kenan’s Law” to help combat online harassment and cyberbullying, claiming that Urker had faced “an overwhelming amount of online scrutiny” prior to his death. “Reports were made across multiple platforms, and far too often, the response was simply: ‘No violation.’ Kenan’s Law is about changing the way social-media platforms handle repeated reports of harassment,” she wrote on Sunday. “This is not about silencing criticism or taking away anyone’s freedom of speech. Public figures can and should be criticized, but public figures are still human beings, and fame should never erase someone’s humanity.” Blanchard further explained her intentions in starting the campaign, while encouraging her social media followers to “sign and share” the petition. “Ken’s passing has made me determined to turn pain into purpose,” she said. “I cannot change what happened, but I can advocate for a better system for the next person who feels like no one is listening. Fame does not erase humanity. A pattern cannot always be understood one post at a time.” Blanchard’s Change.org petition has gathered 382 signatures as of publication. “Kenan’s Law would ask lawmakers to establish stronger procedures for how major social-media platforms handle serious and repeated reports of online harassment,” she explained in a website description. “I am asking lawmakers to consider requirements including pattern-based reporting … human review … meaningful appeals … evidence preservation … [and] transparency.” Urker, who welcomed Aurora with Blanchard in 2024, was found dead inside his Louisiana home on his 34th birthday earlier this week. A cause of death has not been publicly revealed pending an ongoing investigation. “Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved,” Gypsy wrote via Instagram on Thursday, October 1, breaking her silence on Urker’s death. “He will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase.” She concluded at the time, “Above all, Ken loved our daughter, Aurora. She is a beautiful reflection of his enduring spirit, and through her, a part of him will always remain with us. I will make sure she grows up knowing how deeply her father loved her and who he was beyond what strangers on the internet chose to say about him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.” In addition to his daughter, Urker is survived by his parents and siblings.

The late Ken Urker's sister Autumn has condemned Gypsy Rose Blanchard's public comments following her ex’s shocking death at age 34 earlier this week. “We are disgusted with her statements! She hasn't even called my mother or any of us yet,” Autumn told The Daily Mail in an interview published on Saturday, October 3. Us previously reported that Urker was found dead on his 34th birthday at his home in Raceland, Louisiana, on Thursday, October 1. A Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson confirmed to Us that Urker “was found dead upon arrival” and that there was “no evidence of foul play” at the scene. (A cause of death has yet to be determined.) Blanchard later told TMZ that she had sent a text message to Urker to wish him a happy birthday on Thursday but did not get a reply. Her half-brother and sister-in-law — Dylan and Anita Blanchard — went to Ken’s residence with his boss Justin Daigle, only to find him unconscious on his bed. Blanchard, 35, spoke out hours after news broke, telling People that she was not sure whether his death was “intentional or not.” “Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved. He will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance and even death can never erase,” Gypsy Rose wrote in a subsequent statement. “Above all, Ken loved our daughter Aurora. She is a beautiful reflection of his enduring spirit, and through her, a part of him will always remain with us. I will make sure she grows up knowing how deeply her father loved her and who he was beyond what strangers on the internet chose to say about him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.” Aurora has since accused Gypsy Rose of misrepresenting the facts about her relationship with Ken, claiming they were split up at the time of his death. (Ken and Urker originally connected in 2017 after he wrote her a letter of support while she served a prison sentence for pleading guilty to the second-degree murder of her late mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. Originally splitting in 2018, they reconciled following Gypsy Rose’s separation from ex-husband Ryan Anderson in 2024 and welcomed daughter Aurora later that year.) “She had to be in the limelight. She had to be that girl. She didn’t care what it cost other people around her,” Autumn said of Gypsy Rose in her latest interview. “She loved all the attention at the expense of everybody around her.” She added, “As much hate that she received, she would receive about two times more of support and happy comments telling her to keep doing her, to ignore the haters. Except ignoring the haters got everybody around her to receive death threats, and to be uncomfortable.” Autumn claimed that Ken told her in their final phone call that he wanted to bring daughter Aurora “back home” to his mother, adding that he felt he’d “failed Aurora because of Gypsy.” “It was her way or she was screaming at him because he was trying to control her like her mother. Gypsy is not this sweet person,” Autumn alleged. She remembered her late brother as a “great man” who would “love you” even if you were “broken.” “He would still fight for you.
