Lane Johnson's Surprising Midseason Exit: The Real Reason Behind His Retirement New

Lane Johnson's Surprising Midseason Exit: The Real Reason Behind His Retirement

Legendary Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson announced his retirement in the middle of his 14th season with the franchise.  “I have given it my all for 14 years, season after season pushing my body to the max and tirelessly working my craft to not only live up to the legacy of the guys that came before me, but to set a new standard of success for the best franchise in all of sports,” Johnson, 36, shared via social media on Tuesday, October 6. “I deeply wanted to gut it out for one more year; to take the field with my brothers for one last season. But after a lot of reflection, I’ve realized that my personal and family priorities in my life have changed.” Johnson appeared in the first three games of the 2026 NFL season, but did not play in the Eagles’ Sunday, October 4, game against the Los Angeles Rams due to personal reasons.  “Right now, it is critical that I focus on my mental health,” Johnson continued. “I owe it to my teammates, coaches, the organization and the fans to have my head and heart 100 percent in the game. And right now my heart is telling me that it’s time to say goodbye to football.” Johnson married his wife, Kelsey Holmer, in April. He shares three children — sons Jace, 13, and McCoy, 7, and daughter Journey, 10 — with his ex-wife, Chelsea Goodman. Johnson and Goodman were married from 2013 to 2022.  “Thank you to [Eagles owner] Jeffrey Lurie and the entire Eagles organization for taking a chance on a kid from small-town East Texas, and changing my life forever,” Johnson wrote. “And thank you to the many coaches and teammates I’ve had the honor of working with and playing alongside for the past 14 years; y’all have become lifelong friends and the brothers that I never had.” Johnson concluded, “Right now, what’s most important to me is continuing to focus on my mental health and spending more time with my kids and family. But Philadelphia will always be home, and I will forever be an Eagle. Thank you for the love and enduring support.” Throughout this career, Johnson has been open about dealing with depression and anxiety. In 2021, he took a leave of absence from the team to address his mental health..  “The monster kept building and building and building," Johnson told Fox Sports in October 2021. "It finally came to a point where I said, 'I'm not gonna take it no more.'" He continued at the time,  "The first game against Atlanta, I told my mom ... 'Something's really, really wrong with me. I don't know exactly what it is.' I said, 'I'm miserable. I know my mind isn't right. I know my body isn't right.' So I left [the Eagles]. I went back home. I didn't have any communication with the Eagles." Johnson admitted trying to talk about his mental health with people who “have no clue” what it’s like was “very difficult.” "You lose touch of your sense of self,” he said at the time. “You lose touch of what's really going on around you. And what we really tend to do is lock up, not want to say anything." He added, "I was ashamed, to be honest. In this league, the NFL, where it's a gladiator-type sport, it's something that's not often talked about but is often felt throughout the league."

Dolph Lundgren's Life-Saving Medical Revelation: What Really Happened? New

Dolph Lundgren's Life-Saving Medical Revelation: What Really Happened?

Standing at a staggering 6-foot-4 with an infamous statuesque build and steely stare, Dolph Lundgren has long been one of Hollywood’s leading macho men — but even strength is no armor against life’s most unexpected blows. Lundgren, 68, was dealt one of his own in 2015, when doctors discovered a tumor that led to a kidney cancer diagnosis. “Getting a second opinion, that saved my life,” Dolph exclusively told Us about discovering he had been receiving the wrong cancer treatment for years. “I was misdiagnosed [and] had I not sent all my charts and everything to [the] doctor at UCLA, I wouldn’t have been sitting here right now.” By then, Lungren’s cancer had already taken a devastating toll on his body, with tumors sprouting in his lungs, spine, stomach and liver as his initial cocktail of medications failed to keep the cancer at bay. After discovering there was another course of action, the revelation took some time for the actor to process, but it soon gave way to hope. “It was both [disbelief and relief],” Lundgren said. “Disbelief first, and then we started the second treatment, the new treatment, [and] it was a relief that it started working quite quickly.” The Rocky IV star admitted he was “a little upset” after learning what had happened and says he and his wife Emma Krokdal even thought about pursuing a malpractice case and donating the proceeds to charity before ultimately deciding not to go through with it. “I decided it [was] going to be a mess,” he told Us. “Who needs it? I was still going through treatment, and then I realized that they weren’t doing it out of spite; they just had made a mistake. People make mistakes.” Amid the uncertainty, Lundgren kept filming during what he now calls the “worst part” of his illness. While working on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Expend4bles, the actor quietly kept his diagnosis to himself, crediting his wife, 30, with helping him manage his health once the cameras stopped rolling. “[Emma] was there and helped me with the treatments, with my diet because I could only eat certain things. I had sores in my mouth and so forth,” he said. “She was just fantastic. So without her, it would have been very, very difficult, I think, to pull through.” After nearly a decade-long fight for answers, Lundgren says he has regained much of the strength he had before his health took a turn — now with a new outlook on life. “Actually, I'm kind of back to where I was before I started, without the crazy burning the candle at both ends sort [of] attitude, which I've had since I was young. But I gave that up,” he told Us. While he still undergoes scans every four to five months, the action star says things have remained “clean” for roughly three years. “Obviously I'm aware of the fact that psychologically that something could come back,” Lundgren said, candidly revealing he is aware that further treatment might be necessary to keep the cancer from returning. “And look, it's just part of life. I can't change that.” Coming out the other side as a cancer survivor has given the actor a chance to look back at just how much his life changed, something he does candidly in his new documentary Dolph: Unbreakable, available on digital platforms October 6. “I do feel that it was a blessing for me,” he said. “If it had not happened, I would have pushed too hard somewhere, and some other kind of catastrophic breakdown physically, maybe because I was just doing too much.” The project was already underway before his health became a bigger part of the story, prompting Lundgren to rethink the film's focus as his circumstances changed. “Doing a documentary or writing a book, it's going back down memory lane, and you're revisiting your past, your decisions, why you did certain things,” he said. “It's sort of therapeutic.” The film takes viewers back to Lundgren’s childhood stomping grounds in Sweden, his early fascination with martial arts, and even his mid-80s whirlwind relationship with actress Grace Jones, before tracing the Hollywood career that followed. Along the way, longtime friends and fellow action heavyweights Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger make a cameo, offering their own perspective on the notorious tough guy. By sharing the harder chapters alongside the highlights, Lundgren says he hopes his story can offer some encouragement to anyone facing a fight of their own. “I hope there’s some inspiration there,” he told Us. “I hope people can see that there’s a way to make it through hard times if you really want to, if you have the right attitude.” After coming so close to losing the future he once took for granted, Lundgren says he isn’t trying to outrun time anymore — he’s savoring the fact that he has it. “I just want to enjoy every day,” he said. “Every day, I look at the sky. I look at the sunrise and realize I'm here in this beautiful world and with plenty of possibilities and all these people around me that I love, that led me back, and what the hell? Well, I got nothing to complain about.”

Troy Aikman Surprises Fans with Rare Glimpse Into His Private Life New

Troy Aikman Surprises Fans with Rare Glimpse Into His Private Life

Dallas Cowboys legend Troy Aikman shared rare photos with his girlfriend, Marisa Howard, to celebrate her 40th birthday.  “Happy Birthday Beautiful ❤️,” Aikman, 59, posted via Instagram on Sunday, October 4, alongside a carousel of pictures of Howard. The NFL legend and Howard have kept their relationship very low-key. The pair were photographed together at the Children’s Cancer Fund’s 35th Anniversary Gala in April 2025. D Magazine confirmed they were dating two months later.  Howard vacationed in Croatia with Aikman and his two daughters — Jordan, 25, and Ally, 24 — in June, which Aikman showed off via Instagram. Aikman shares his daughters with his first wife, Rhonda Worthey, who he was married to from 2000 to 2011. He was married to his second wife, Capa Mooty, from 2017 to 2023.  Marisa shares two daughters of her own with her ex-husband, Frank Howard Jr., according to D Magazine. She filed for divorce in July 2024, though it is unclear whether the divorce has been finalized.  A former model, Marisa is also a children’s book author and creator of the Sissies Adventures Series, which “celebrates the gift of sisterhood while joyfully exploring new destinations.”  Aikman, who is now the color analyst for ESPN’s Monday Night Football, called the end of his second marriage his “rock bottom.” “For me, contentment was always a four-letter word,” he told The Athletic in September 2024. “I never wanted to be content. I didn’t wanna be around anyone who was content. That’s just not a place I could land.” While Aikman keeps his relationship with Marisa close to the vest, he does not shy away from gushing about his daughters on social media.  “I’ve had a front-row seat watching you become such an amazing young woman. Couldn’t be more proud of you and equally as proud to be your Dad. Happy birthday Jordan, I love you ❤️,” Aikman shared via Instagram in August. Aikman shared a birthday message to his younger daughter the month before.  “Happy 24th birthday to my beautiful daughter, Ally,” he posted via Instagram in July. “Twenty-four years ago, you blessed my life and you’ve brought that same light, kindness, and joy to so many others. Proud to be your dad. Happy birthday, darling ❤️.” On the professional side of things, there’s been much talk about Aikman’s broadcasting future, with the former quarterback currently in the final year of his five-year, $90 million contract with ESPN.  “I don’t really have an answer there,” Aikman said on the “Sports Media with Richard Deitsch” podcast last month. “I don’t really know. I’ve had no conversation with anyone from Bristol as far as what this means for me.”

California Man's Arrest Sparks Outrage After Shocking Family Revelation New

California Man's Arrest Sparks Outrage After Shocking Family Revelation

A California man who allegedly impregnated his 14-year-old daughter was arrested in Mexico after being wanted in connection with the death of their newborn, authorities said. Mexican authorities confirmed they rescued the teenage girl, according to a Monday, October 5, news release from the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, which said the FBI was also involved in rescue efforts. “During the rescue operation, Sergio Galvez Perez was arrested after he was found in possession of narcotics,” Monterey County Sheriff Tina Nieto said in a statement. “Mexican authorities are aware of the pending charges against him in Monterey County for crimes committed against [his daughter]. [She] is safe and is currently in the care of local authorities in Mexico.” Perez’s arrest comes after the sheriff’s office revealed the body of a newborn was found along the side of Struve Road in Monterey County on August 1. Investigators learned Perez’s daughter allegedly gave birth to the baby girl on the road, put the infant on the ground and left. Authorities believe Perez was the father of the newborn, referred to as “Baby Angelita.” The baby’s death set off a search for both the 14-year-old and Perez, who was accused of hiding his daughter from law enforcement. Arrest warrants charging the teen with murder and Perez with multiple felonies in connection with the baby’s death were issued, per the sheriff’s office. Nieto said during an August 31 news conference that the infant’s life “was tragically taken.” The sheriff also acknowledged the teen is “a victim because of the sexual abuse by her own father.” The Monterey County District Attorney's Office said they hadn’t decided whether to charge the 14-year-old after arrest warrants were issued, according to CBS News. The district attorney’s office said on September 2, “We recognize that the 14-year-old is a victim of her father's abuse. No child should ever have to endure such horrific circumstances.” Perez is charged with incest, lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, lewd acts with a minor, unlawful sexual intercourse, child concealment and child endangerment, according to authorities. The 14-year-old’s mother, Ofelia Garcia Ortega, was previously arrested on a child endangerment charge in connection with the investigation into the baby’s death. She was released from jail after posting bail, according to the sheriff’s office. It was not immediately clear whether Perez or Ortega, 36, had retained legal counsel. The sheriff’s office said a news conference will be held to discuss additional details on the 14-year-old’s rescue and Perez’s arrest in Mexico. “This remains an active investigation. No additional information will be released at this time,” the agency said. If you or someone you know is experiencing child abuse, call or text Child Help Hotline at 1-800-422-4453.

Tim McGraw's Heartfelt Tribute to Faith Hill on 30th Anniversary

After three decades of marriage, Tim McGraw is still head over heels in love with his wife, Faith Hill. “30 years, today. 30 years of our marriage,” McGraw, 59, wrote via Instagram on Monday, October 5. “That day, October 6, 1996, under an old locust tree (I think) in my Aunt’s backyard in Rayville, Louisiana, I stood there and watched my future walk towards me with the sweetest man I’ve ever known, her father Ted.” The country singer continued, “In front of our closest family and friends, I was bound to the most beautiful soul. A lady that was glowing in my eyes, expanding my heart and giving me all the love she had.” While sharing throwback photos and video clips with his wife, McGraw celebrated the life they created, which includes daughters Gracie, 29, Maggie, 28, and Audrey, 24. “I was and still am bewildered by her capacity to love, forgive, nurture and be full of joy and laughter. She is a gift to the world for sure, however, for us, we get her, all of her,” McGraw wrote via Instagram. “And I (and my girls) know who is ours, completely. It’s difficult to describe what she means, she is the center of gravity to my life and our girls’ lives and anyone who knows Audrey Faith McGraw.” The Grammy winner continued, “I love you baby. You are my best friend. My lover. My wife. My shelter in any and every storm. … Many more beautiful memories to come.I am a fortunate man.” Although Hill, 59, is not currently on social media, the country singer has previously gushed about her husband and the father of her three daughters. After McGraw released his 2023 album, Standing Room Only, Hill proved to be her husband’s No. 1 cheerleader when she wrote via Instagram, “Still after all this time and so many albums, you never cease to amaze me. You are an absolute master of your art. In every way. Congratulations!!!!!! My love. We are so proud of you.” As the couple prepare for another decade in their love story, McGraw previously reflected on how much the pair has accomplished on and off stage. “We have been through so much together, our girls growing up, me trying to grow up, and you, you, you, always there, always there for all of us when we fell, always you when we triumphed, always you,” he wrote via Instagram in October 2025. “When we love, when we live, when we think of how to love, live and dream, always you. You are my girl, I love you with a fire that grows each passing year.”

Brooke Elliott's Emotional Farewell Sparks Buzz After Sweet Magnolias Axed New

Brooke Elliott's Emotional Farewell Sparks Buzz After Sweet Magnolias Axed

Brooke Elliott is finally speaking out after Netflix's shocking decision to cancel Sweet Magnolias. "To everyone who loved us, we love you just as much in return," Elliott, 51, who played Dana Sue, wrote via Instagram on Monday, October 5. "I will miss this cast and crew dearly." She concluded: "Here’s to the beautiful Sweet Magnolias ... one last time ... Pour It Out ." News broke last month that Netflix chose not to renew Sweet Magnolias for a sixth season. Instead, the streaming service ordered a new drama series from creator Sheryl J. Anderson — with JoAnna Garcia Swisher set to executive produce and potentially star in. “All grand adventures must eventually end," read a post from the show's official Instagram account. "And here, dear friends, is where ours goes. Sweet Magnolias is now complete with five seasons streaming on Netflix." The show’s creator teased her next chapter with Ladies of the House. “I’m thrilled to be embarking on this new adventure with JoAnna and Netflix,” she said in a statement. “When Jo shared the novel with me, I immediately saw the foundation for a series centered on three women grappling with the complexities of family, friendship, and romance — the kind of stories Jo and I most enjoy telling. I cannot wait to share the Richardson women and their world with Netflix’s global audience.” Swisher, 47, also weighed in on the decision to adapt Ladies of the House, which is a modern retelling of Sense and Sensibility. “From the moment I read Lauren Edmondson’s Ladies of the House, I fell completely in love with Daisy, Cricket and Wallis: their relationships, their messiness, their strength, and most of all, their heart,” she said. “I am beyond excited to continue to tell meaningful, female-driven stories alongside the incredible Sheryl J. Anderson, and to bring this to life through our production company Rolling Clover and with our wonderful partners at Black Label.” She concluded: “Netflix has been my creative home for the past seven years, and I couldn’t imagine a better place, or a better team, to tell this story.” Other Sweet Magnolias stars have since addressed the show’s abrupt cancellation — including Jamie Lynn Spears. “I can’t put into words how much the people who make up our Sweet Mags family mean to me, and that’s not just the producers, cast, crew & @Netflix who are like actual family at this point, but also each of you who watched and became a part of our family as well,” Spears, 35, wrote via Instagram in September. “It’s so rare to have five seasons straight be #1 around the whole world, in a business where getting a 2nd season of anything is almost impossible these days.”
