Ex-Boyfriend's Shocking Confession in Influencer Murder Case

The ex-boyfriend of beauty influencer Stefanie Pieper has formally been charged with murder 10 months after she was killed. The ex, who has only been identified as Patrick M, has been accused of strangling and stabbing Pieper, 31, in her apartment in Austria in November 2025. He then allegedly stuffed her body in a suitcase, which was eventually found buried in a forest near the border of Slovenia. Patrick, 31, previously admitted to killing Pieper amid his alleged jealousy after they split. He was formally charged with her murder on Monday, September 21, according to German outlet Bild. Per the report, Patrick walked back his initial confession and only admitted to burying Pieper’s body. He was arrested in Šentilj before he was extradited to Austria. It is not currently clear if he has entered a plea or retained legal counsel following his arrest. Patrick’s brother and stepfather were also accused of helping him move Pieper’s body, but they are reportedly not expected to be charged. Pieper was last seen at a Christmas party on November 23, 2025. After she left the party, she sent her friend concerning texts about “a creep in the stairwell,” according to the New York Post. Pieper was reported missing the following day when she didn’t show up for a scheduled photo shoot. She was found dead less than one week later on November 29, 2025, and authorities said she had facial injuries that she may have sustained while trying to get out of the suitcase. After Pieper was reported missing, her ex quickly became a suspect in the case. “Subsequent investigations led to the suspicion that the woman’s 31-year-old ex-boyfriend might be connected to her disappearance,” Styrian State Police previously said at the time. “The man is believed to have traveled to Slovenia several times in his car. He could not be contacted by the investigating police.” German newspaper Kronen Zeitung reported that Patrick was apprehended in Slovenia. Police found him after they responded to a call that “a car had caught fire in the parking lot of a casino near the border” in Šentilj. “This was the 31-year-old man’s car,” police said. “He was found in the immediate vicinity of the burning vehicle and arrested by the Slovenian police. Extradition to Austria has been requested.” After Patrick reportedly confessed to strangling Pieper, he took police to the nearby forest where her remains were. As Us previously reported, Pieper’s autopsy report confirmed that she died as a result of strangulation to her neck. In March, a spokesperson for the Graz Public Prosecutor's Office told Bilt that investigators had not ruled out the theory that she may have been alive when she was put in the suitcase. "The autopsy could not definitively determine when the young woman died,” the spokesperson said. “It is entirely possible that she was still alive when she was placed in the suitcase. However, it is equally possible that she was killed by strangulation beforehand."

Hayden Panettiere's Heartbreaking Cause of Death Finally Revealed

Hayden Panettiere's cause of death has officially been revealed one month after she was found dead at age 36. "An autopsy was completed by a Board Certified Forensic Pathologist. At autopsy no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death," read an official statement from the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. According to the statement, Panettiere's cause of death was ruled as "toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, Alprazolam, Methocarbamol, and Quetiapine." The manner of her death was determined to be an accident. A rep for the actress tells Us, "The investigation is still ongoing and the case is complex." News broke of Panettiere's death on August 16. "It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen," read a statement from her father, Skip Panettiere. "We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss." Police in Greenville, South Carolina, later shared more insight into the circumstances surrounding the actress' death. According to NBC News, authorities were "accompanied by EMS personnel" when they "responded to a report of an unresponsive female" around 1:50 p.m. local time. The woman, later identified as Hayden, was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation later began. Along with dad Skip and mom Lesley Vogel, Hayden is survived by daughter Kaya, 11, whom she shared with Wladimir Klitschko. Her brother, Jansen Panettiere, died in February 2023 at age 28. Hayden got her start in the '90s with roles on soap operas including One Life to Live. She voiced Princess Dot in 1998's A Bug's Life, later stealing hearts with her performance in 2000's Remember the Titans. The actress is also known for her turn as Kirby Reed in the Scream franchise. On the small screen, Hayden starred as Claire Bennet on NBC's Heroes from 2006 to 2010 and as Juliette Barnes on the smash hit Nashville from 2012 to 2018. She earned two Golden Globe nominations for her work on the musical drama series. Throughout her career, Hayden was candid about the challenges she faced in her personal life, including her battle with postpartum depression. Amid her struggles, the actress made the choice to sign over full custody of her daughter to Klitschko. Kaya eventually relocated to Ukraine. "It was a nightmare. ... I feel like I would be lying if I said that I have, even to this day, been able to fully process them, those emotions in a healthy way," Hayden told Us. "I had to figure out, there was no other option to me, but to figure out how to stand back." At the time, Hayden gushed over her "incredible" relationship with Kaya and Klitschko. "She is just such an incredible human being," she said of her daughter. "She's otherworldly and so sweet and so kind and so fierce and such a lover and surrounded by good people and good friends, and it's incredible for me to be able to watch her thrive in areas that I struggled with growing up." The Dead to Me actress, 54, shared a clip showing off her newly dyed hair on Monday, September 21. In the clip, Applegate showed off her blonde locks while sporting a black hoodie and gray tank top. She wrote alongside the video, “Fresh hair color, new weird spot on my cheek haha thank you @davestanwell for brightening up my cloudy day. Love you and love to you all out there.” The actress also shared a selfie highlighting her fresh new look via her Instagram Stories. Fans and friends rallied to show Applegate support in the comments section of her post. “Beautiful!” wrote Kyle Richards, while Jennie Garth commented, “Love it!������.” In early August, TMZ reported that Applegate had been discharged from the hospital after nearly four months amid her ongoing battle with multiple sclerosis. The outlet described her as “doing well.” TMZ first reported Applegate’s apparent hospitalization in April, claiming she was admitted in late March. “I have no comment whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are,” a rep for the Sweetest Thing actress told Us at the time. “She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast.” Applegate shared an update on her health in an April 20 Instagram post. “Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes. Tragic Pool Incident: Mother Allegedly Passes Out Drunk as Toddler Drowns

A 3-year-old boy in Indiana fatally drowned after his mother allegedly drank five 25 oz. cans of Bud Ice in two hours and she passed out on a patio chair. Amie Jo Farber has been charged with neglect of a dependent causing death. Officers with the Evansville Police Department responded to a home on Saturday, September 19, at 4:44 p.m. after a boy had been found unresponsive in a pool, according to a probable cause arrest affidavit viewed by Law & Crime. Authorities immediately started performing lifesaving measures on the boy upon their arrival, and paramedics later rushed him to the hospital. The boy, who has not been publicly identified, was ultimately pronounced dead. The homeowner spoke to police and explained that Farber, who is a family acquaintance, came to his house around 2:30 p.m. and asked if her son could use the pool. He said that he agreed to let the boy use the pool as long as Farber, 41, watched him. The man added that he knew Farber had a drinking problem and noted that she appeared intoxicated when she arrived at his home, per the affidavit. He said that he and Farber sat outside as the boy swam in the pool on a floatie. The homeowner then went inside for about 10 minutes and he found Farber "passed out" in a patio chair when he returned. The homeowner also said he did not initially see the boy, but the floatie was overturned in the pool. The homeowner then noticed the boy was floating face down in the water. He got the boy out of the pool and yelled for someone to call 911 as he started to perform CPR. A woman then called 911 and told the dispatcher that Farber "passed out drunk," per the affidavit. The boy was ultimately pronounced dead after emergency services rushed him to the hospital. Police said that Farber allegedly drank five Bud Ice "Big Ones” in the two hours she was at the home. Farber spoke to police about the incident, and she claimed she briefly jumped in the pool before she got out. She then claimed to go back to a patio chair, where she "must've fallen asleep." "This is all my fault," she allegedly told officers, according to the affidavit. Police officers collected a blood sample from Farber before she was arrested and taken into custody at the Vandenburgh County Jail. Farber is currently being held on a $25,000 bond, and she is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, September 23. It is not currently clear if Farber has entered a plea or retained legal counsel following her arrest. The Evansville Police Department did not immediately respond to Us’ request for comment regarding the case.
