Sweet Magnolias' Surprising End: Why Netflix Pulled the Plug New

Sweet Magnolias' Surprising End: Why Netflix Pulled the Plug

Sweet Magnolias is coming to an end with a shocking cancellation — but Netflix has already ordered a new series with JoAnna Garcia Swisher. News broke on Friday, September 18, that Netflix chose not to renew Sweet Magnolias for a sixth season. Instead, the streaming service ordered a new drama series from Sweet Magnolias’ showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson — with Swisher, 47, set to executive produce and potentially star in. “All grand adventures must eventually end," read a post from the show's official Instagram account. "And here, dear friends, is where ours goes. Sweet Magnolias is now complete with five seasons streaming on Netflix." Anderson, for her part, teased their next chapter with Ladies of the House. “I’m thrilled to be embarking on this new adventure with JoAnna and Netflix,” Anderson said in a statement. “When Jo shared the novel with me, I immediately saw the foundation for a series centered on three women grappling with the complexities of family, friendship, and romance — the kind of stories Jo and I most enjoy telling. I cannot wait to share the Richardson women and their world with Netflix’s global audience.” Swisher also weighed in on the decision to adapt Ladies of the House, which is a modern retelling of Sense and Sensibility. “From the moment I read Lauren Edmondson’s Ladies of the House, I fell completely in love with Daisy, Cricket and Wallis: their relationships, their messiness, their strength, and most of all, their heart,” she said. “I am beyond excited to continue to tell meaningful, female-driven stories alongside the incredible Sheryl J. Anderson, and to bring this to life through our production company Rolling Clover and with our wonderful partners at Black Label. Netflix has been my creative home for the past seven years, and I couldn’t imagine a better place, or a better team, to tell this story.” Based on Lauren Edmonson’s novel of the same name, Ladies of the House follows three women. When the charismatic owner of a winery dies unexpectedly, his wife and two adult daughters "must battle through their issues with each other in order to confront challenges with the business, their extended family, and the men in their lives," according to the official synopsis. The description continued: "Good friends and good wine will aid in the journey to hang on to the winery, but what matters most is that they find a way to hang on to each other." Sweet Magnolias, which premiered in 2020, is based on Sherryl Woods’ novels about three women who have been best friends since childhood as they navigate their romantic lives, careers and family. According to Deadline, Netflix had a choice between renewing Sweet Magnolias for a sixth — and final — season or picking up Ladies of the House, with Anderson and Swisher focusing on the next show. After options were up for the Sweet Magnolias cast on Thursday, September 17, Netflix opted to cancel Sweet Magnolias and order Ladies of the House. Sweet Magnolias is currently streaming on Netflix.

Fashion World Shocked as Steven Kolb Resigns After PETA Clash

Steven Kolb has officially resigned from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) after a scandal that saw him tackling PETA protesters at a New York Fashion Week show on Sunday.“After twenty years leading the CFDA, I have made the difficult decision to step down as CEO and President,” Kolb wrote in a statement published via Substack on Friday. Kolb noted that he “believe[s] this is the right moment for both [him] and the organization to begin a new chapter.”The fashion industry titan went on to highlight the organization’s expansion and accomplishments under his leadership. “What I am most proud of is the impact we have had on American designers — supporting creativity and helping businesses grow,” he wrote, noting that “none of this was the work of one person.”CFDA CEO and president Steven Kolb, pictured above in May, has resigned following a public altercation with PETA protesters at a NYFW event. Getty Images for Accessories CouncilKolb, seen above during the Sunday incident with a PETA protester, said the decision to step down was “deeply emotional” in a statement published on Friday. Steph Saltzman for FashionistaHe expressed his gratitude to CFDA members, designers, staff and beyond, calling it a “privilege” to work with them. He also called out Chairs Diane von Furstenberg, Tom Ford, Thom Browne and Stan Herman “for their leadership, partnership and friendship.”Kolb called stepping away after two decades “deeply emotional,” but noted he’s “proud” of what was accomplished under his stewardship and is “confident in the CFDA’s future.”The organization’s board of directors responded with a statement, also on Friday, praising the former CEO and president for being a “dedicated leader and tireless champion of American fashion.”The statement emphasized the their “respect” for Kolb’s decision to step down and that they “are grateful for his many years of leadership and service to the CFDA and our industry.”The CFDA’s board of directors concluded their statement by emphasizing that with a “clear mission and dedicated team,” the organization will “carry out the important work ahead.”Kolb, pictures above earlier this month, wrote that he’s “proud” of what the CFDA has accomplished under his leadership. REUTERSA rep for COS’s parent company, H&M, told Page Six on Wednesday they’d be looking into the altercation.“The incident at the show should have been prevented from escalating and that is why we are investigating what happened with the teams involved,” the company said in a statement.Kolb addressed the incident on Monday, announcing a “voluntary” leave of absence in an Instagram Stories post.“What happened was completely out of character for me, both personally and as a leader,” he wrote, admitting that he understood “the reaction they have generated” when viewing the footage himself.Kolb apologized, saying he “inappropriately restrained” the campaigners and said he takes “full responsibility” for his actions. He added, “I have accepted an invitation from PETA to meet and discuss their concerns, and I hope to have the opportunity to apologize in person to the two individuals who did not deserve that treatment.” Community GuidelinesWelcome to the Page Six Community! Our community is about connecting people through open and thoughtful conversations. Nick Reiner's Legal Battle: Family Trust Funds Denied Amidst Serious Allegations New

Nick Reiner's Legal Battle: Family Trust Funds Denied Amidst Serious Allegations

Nick Reiner’s attorneys are claiming he hasn’t received ‘even $5’ from his family trust as he awaits trial over the death of his parents Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner. New legal documents filed this week and obtained by People show Nick’s attorneys responded to objections to their client, 32, accessing his family trust, the outlet reported on Friday, September 18. Per People, Nick’s legal team responded to successor trustee Jodi Pais Montgomery and former trustee Paul R. Kanin in two separate replies filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, September 17. “In the meantime, Nick still has not been able to access even $5 from his trust to buy basic subsistence items from the jail commissary,” Nick’s attorneys, Anita P. Wu and Geoffrey A. Neri, wrote in response to Montgomery. In response to Kanin, Nick’s attorneys argued, “Nick has been unable to access money that is lawfully his own — to re-engage criminal defense counsel, or even for basic subsistence items from the jail commissary.” According to an indictment obtained by Us on August 12, Nick is accused of the first-degree murders of his parents at their Los Angeles home on December 14, 2025. Rob was 78, and Michele was 70. Nick, who has struggled with addiction and mental health issues over the years, previously pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder with the special circumstance allegations of multiple murders and murder by means of lying in wait after the indictment was unsealed. Back in June, Nick first attempted to gain access to his share of a $1.5 million trust fund set up by his late parents. At the time, Nick argued that he should have received half of that sum when he turned 30 in September 2023. (The trust was established by his parents upon his birth in 1993.) In early August, however, lawyers for Nick’s previous and current trustee — Kanin and Montgomery — sought to block him from receiving any money from the trust due to California’s “Slayer Statute.” The “Slayer Statute” law states that “a person who feloniously and intentionally kills the decedent is not entitled” to any financial assets or property from the person or people they killed. Nick’s legal team appeared in court on August 17 seeking access to the trust fund. “The main thing to take away from today’s hearing and moving forward is Nick Reiner is very much entitled to his own money, his own funds. That’s what this process is about,” Nick’s former attorney Alan Jackson told Us and other reporters outside of court at the time. “He’s made a determination that he wants to be able to use his funds that are in his trust account to decide on his criminal counsel. When he is allowed to do that, he will then be able to defend himself in the way that the constitution indicates he should and can defend himself.”

Dakota Johnson and MGK's Surprising First Date at Taylor Swift's Place New

Dakota Johnson and MGK's Surprising First Date at Taylor Swift's Place

Dakota Johnson and MGK were enjoying a low-key first date when they were spotted at Taylor Swift’s apartment in New York City. “They hit it off and wanted some privacy,” a source exclusively tells Us. “So, Dakota contacted Taylor, and Taylor said she wasn't home, so they could use her place.” The insider adds, “Apparently, Taylor lets her close friends use her place when she’s away.” Us reached out to reps for Johnson, MGK and Swift for comment. Johnson and MGK, both 36, were spotted at Swift’s Tribeca apartment on Friday, September 11, before heading to the actress' hotel and, later, to Estela for dinner. Though the pair’s connection is new, they have run in the same social circles. In October 2025, Johnson and rapper both attended the Vogue World: Hollywood event at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles. More recently, they were both present at Madison Square Garden in NYC when Swift, also 36, tied the knot with Travis Kelce on July 3. MGK and Johnson’s first official date comes after their respective splits from Megan Fox and Role Model. MGK (real name Colson Baker) and Fox, 40, called it quits in November 2024 after dating on and off for about four years. The exes had gotten engaged in January 2022 but now have a rocky dynamic as they coparent their daughter, Saga, whom they welcomed in March 2025 after their split. (MGK is also a dad to daughter Casie, 17, from a previous relationship. Fox, meanwhile, shares sons Noah, 13, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 10, with ex-husband Brian Austin Green.) “They were on a good path and things have blown up again,” a source exclusively told Us in April. “They have been having so many disagreements and explosive fights. Their communication with each other has been terrible.” The source added, “MGK has been trying hard to get back together with Megan, but she isn’t interested.” Despite their turbulent split, MGK has publicly praised Fox as “the greatest partner to have had a child with, because she’s such a phenomenal mom.” “We go back and forth on who [Saga] looks like. Last month, she looked exactly like me, and now she looks exactly like her,” he said on The Jennifer Hudson Show in September 2025. Johnson, meanwhile, had been dating singer Role Model, 29, for seven months before People confirmed their split in August. Prior to her romance with Role Model (real name Tucker Pillsbury), Johnson dated Coldplay frontman Chris Martin from October 2017 to June 2025. Though Johnson has not publicly addressed her splits from either musician, she did share her top dating non-negotiable during a June 2025 interview on Today. “Like, not an a**hole,” she quipped.

Why Prince Harry's Return to England Is Sparking Major Buzz New

Why Prince Harry's Return to England Is Sparking Major Buzz

Prince Harry is opening up about his family’s transatlantic return to England for the first time. “My highlight so far? Do I have to share it with you?” Harry, 42, quipped during a Thursday, September 17, interview with Hello! at the Invictus Spirit Awards. “Look, the last few weeks have been … eventful.” Us learned in August that Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, planned to relocate from their home in Montecito, California, to the U.K. in time for their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, to enroll in a local British school for the fall semester. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in England later that month, eventually offering a first glimpse of the move via Meghan’s Instagram page on September 12. Captioned with a heart and a Union Jack flag emoji, Meghan, 45, uploaded a montage of the family of four exploring undisclosed grounds in the U.K. Meghan, who hails from California, relocated to Britain upon her engagement to Harry in 2017. The couple stepped down from their duties as senior working royals in 2020, opting for private life, and left the country with son Archie in tow. Their daughter, Lili, was born the next year in California. Despite their six years living abroad, Harry and Meghan have not disclosed their reasons for moving back. Harry’s father, King Charles III, has since maintained that the duo are still no longer working royals. (Harry was estranged from his dad following the move, but they have since been working toward reconciliation.) “The charitable work of the Duke and Duchess is a personal matter for them both and undertaken in their private capacity,” Charles, 77, wrote in a letter sent to Harry and Meghan’s team, obtained by multiple news outlets, earlier this month. “In short, their position is akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests.” The king continued, “It is well known that, in January 2020, the Duke and Duchess stepped down from undertaking representative duties on behalf of The Sovereign, and are no longer working Members of The Royal Family. This position, distinct from the State and Royal duties undertaken by the working Royal Family, and with the personal latitude it brings the couple in respect of financial independence and protection of their privacy as they would wish, will continue to be fully respected.” A spokesperson for the Archewell cofounders subsequently told the BBC that Harry and Meghan were “a little surprised not to have been told about this in advance.”

Kim Zolciak's Son KJ Faces Legal Setback in High-Profile Case

Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s 15-year-old son, Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., was denied his request to close the courtroom in his sodomy and sexual battery case — but was granted other privacy protections.Fulton County Superior Court Judge Melynee Leftridge denied KJ’s motion to close the courtroom after “finding that the high legal standard for permitting a closed courtroom was not met by Defendant,” according to new court documents exclusively obtained by Page Six.However, the court granted KJ’s motion to restrict media recording and photography to the extent necessary to carry out the court’s protective measures.KJ Biermann (seen here with his mom Kim Zolciak) was denied his request for a closed courtroom in his sodomy and sexual battery case, court documents show. kimzolciakbiermann/InstagramThe teen (seen here in his mugshot) was indicted on seven charges, including aggravated child molestation and aggravated sodomy. Alpharetta Police DepartmentThe judge also granted protections for KJ’s juvenile court records and specifically ordered that any such records “shall be filed under seal,” keeping them from public view.Notably, Leftridge denied KJ’s request to stop prosecutors from presenting limited information from his juvenile court case that is important to the court’s consideration of his bond.Page Six confirmed Friday morning that prosecutors filed an emergency motion requesting the court to order forensic interviews of “minor children.”The high school student was arrested last month and indicted on seven charges: aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, three counts of aggravated sexual battery against a child under 16 and false imprisonment. The judge granted KJ (above) his motion for restricted media. kimzolciakbiermann/instagramThe high school student (seen here with his mom) was accused of sexually assaulting a female classmate. kimzolciakbiermann/InstagramKJ’s arrest came after his female classmate accused him of sexually assaulting her in a co-ed sauna at the Life Time fitness center in Alpharetta, Georgia on April 23.The alleged victim claimed that KJ forced himself on her after she told him no, according to court documents. She claimed to investigators that KJ made “multiple” attempts to have “sexual intercourse with her by trying to pull down her pants.”She also accused him of forcing oral sex and digitally penetrating her vagina.KJ’s lawyer, Jason Sheffield, told Page Six in a statement that his client is “100% innocent, and his mom has also defended her son, claiming, “He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct.”The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum, 48, also supported her son at his Sept. 11 bond hearing. Zolciak’s estranged husband, 41, was also there, though the exes didn’t interact. KJ was granted a $200,000 bond last Friday — with strict stipulations put in place.KJ (above) has denied the allegations. kimzolciakbiermann/InstagramZolciak (seen here at KJ’s bond hearing on Sept. 11) has defended her son. Christopher Oquendo for Page SixPage Six exclusively reported that he must surrender his passport to his pretrial officer before being released from custody. Once released, KJ is banned from using his cellphone or any form of social media and he must attend school virtually by staying at his mom’s house. He is also subject to electronic monitoring. KJ is not allowed to be in direct or indirect contact with the alleged victim, her family or associates, and he is banned from being in contact with anyone under the age of 16. KJ has been held behind bars at The Metro Youth Detention Center in Atlanta, Georgia since his arrest last month. Christopher OquendoZolciak shares KJ with her estranged husband Kroy Biermann (seen above with their family). InstagramDuring the hearing, prosecutors claimed there were multiple videos of KJ having sex with an underage family member found on his cellphone. Due to the alleged incident that occurred in April 2023, he has allegedly been under court supervision since October 2025. Page Six exclusively reported Thursday that KJ’s parents confiscated his cellphone a year before prosecutors said investigators discovered the disturbing videos — though it remains unclear if the incident was connected to those clips. Perez Hilton's Kids Supported by Friend's GoFundMe Amid His Recovery

A long-time friend of Perez Hilton has launched a GoFundMe to support the gossip blogger’s three children as he undergoes treatment following his suicide attempt in early August. The fundraiser, which aims to raise $25,000, was organized by Hilton’s friend of 14 years, Tony-winning producer Tom D’Angora. “All funds raised will benefit Perez’s mother and children only and help cover the additional costs of caring for three kids full-time,” D’Angora wrote on the fundraiser’s page, referring to Mario, Mia and Mayte, along with Hilton’s mother, Teresita Lavandeira. Emma Roberts' Son Steals the Show at Her 'Magical' Wedding New

Emma Roberts' Son Steals the Show at Her 'Magical' Wedding

Emma Roberts’ 5-year-old son, Rhodes, took his duties at his mom’s summer wedding very seriously. “It was so magical, and my son walked me down the aisle,” Roberts, 35, gushed on the Tuesday, September 15, episode of the “Sibling Revelry” podcast. “That was, like, so cute and so sweet. He was so excited.” Roberts married her now-husband, Cody John, in July in an intimate ceremony held at his family’s ranch in Sun Valley, Idaho. “I’ve never felt better or, like, more settled or happier,” Roberts, who shares Rhodes with ex Garrett Hedlund, gushed on Tuesday. “[The wedding] was so amazing. It was at his family’s house in the backyard. We put up a tent and had the time of our lives. … It really was one of the best nights of my life.” In addition to Rhodes, the newlyweds invited 200 of their famous friends and family members to toast the occasion. “We wanted a bunch of people there to celebrate and our parents wanted to invite people, we wanted to invite people, and I didn’t want to be that bride that was rigid with the guest list,” she recalled. “Granted, we didn’t give guests to everyone, but we didn’t want to be too rigid.” Emma’s mother, Kelly Cunningham, and her aunt Julia Roberts were both in attendance, while the American Horror Story star’s dad, Eric Roberts, was notably absent. (Emma and Eric, 70, have a distant relationship.) “I love my daughter, always have, always will,” Eric told Us in a July statement about missing the ceremony. “It is perfectly wonderful for her to celebrate however she wants, with whomever she wants.” While Emma never publicly addressed her father’s absence or their alleged estrangement, she previously told Vogue her big day felt “like it was out of a book.” “I feel like I’m always in a rush,” Emma told the magazine. “All my friends are always in a rush. My family, we’re always in a rush, so to feel like people really got off their phones, were present, and that everybody I love was in one room, I can’t even capture the feeling of that. I couldn’t have dreamed it better.” For the occasion, Emma donned a bespoke bridal gown designed by Monique Lhuillier. “The vibe was, like, vintage, lace [and] formfitting. I said I wanted to look like a haunted doll,” she quipped on the podcast episode. “People thought that was weird, but that was my vibe. Ombré, it was tea-dipped. I wanted to look like a ghost, which people also thought was weird. You know, I loved it, and I have no regrets.”

Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi Celebrates Being Cancer-Free After Courageous Battle

Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi Celebrates Being Cancer-Free After Courageous Battle

Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi revealed she is “on the other side” of her battle with cervical cancer. “As of right now, I am cancer-free. They got everything out,” Snooki, 38, told People on Friday, September 18, referring to her hysterectomy in July. “I’m definitely happy that I did it.” Snooki was diagnosed with stage I cervical cancer in April, subsequently opting to have her uterus and cervix removed. “I avoided getting my pap smear for a long time, and once I finally went to the doctors, I feel like it’s just been week after week of doing a procedure, then another procedure and then a hysterectomy,” she told the outlet. “It’s been a journey and a long road, but I’m happy that I’m on the other side of it and everything is going good.” Less than two months post-op from her hysterectomy, the mom of three is still focused on her ongoing recovery. “I’m trying to listen to my body and give my body grace and not go crazy. There’s days where I do too much and then I just feel exhausted and I start getting pains,” Snooki, who shares her kids with husband Jionni LaValle, noted on Friday. “But other than that, I’m finally starting to feel better. I feel like I’m almost getting back to myself.” The MTV star is also aware of the potential chances of recurrence, which will be monitored via routine pap smears. “Getting a cancer diagnosis is very terrifying and scary. So, I just want my body to be as healthy as it can be,” Snooki stated. “I feel like I’m eating better, working out, obviously staying on top of my appointments. I’m just not avoiding anything and just trying to be the best version of myself.” Upon her diagnosis, Snooki admittedly feared the worst possible outcome. “I called my mom, crying, like, ‘Schedule my funeral, this is what I want,’ like, being so dramatic,” she previously told Us in June. “I was hysterical for, like, three days, and then I was like, ‘You’re a bad bitch, you’re going to be fine, you tackle everything.’ And then I went to Short Hills [mall] and spent, like, thousands of dollars. Then, after that mental breakdown, I was like, ‘All right, let’s get this done.’” After splurging on two Louis Vuitton handbags and a pair of Gucci shoes, Snooki felt ready to beat her cancer diagnosis with a large network of support behind her. “Everybody’s there for me, even my neighbors,” she added to Us. “It was crazy support, and I feel like I died because everyone just showed so much love to me. Everyone’s there for me, and they’re wishing me well, offering prayers and wishing me a speedy recovery. I never got much positivity before, in comments on social media, because people can be so mean to us.”
